Gypsum Mine KEMROC Cutter Demonstration at Western Mining and Minerals

After two days of chasing equipment across the Arizona Strip…

We finally stepped into the quarry to do what we came to do. Episode 3 documents our gypsum mine cutter demonstration at Western Mining and Minerals, where performance in real rock mattered more than specifications on paper. We were not there to talk about numbers. We were there to cut.

The customer had been running a competitor’s cutter that was not delivering the production they needed. We brought two KEMROC cutters and put them side by side in the same material so everyone could see the difference for themselves. In a production environment, that is the only comparison that matters.

Installing, Troubleshooting, and Getting to Work

Our team worked directly with the customer’s field crew to mount the cutters and get them dialed in. During setup, we identified existing issues within their excavator that were limiting overall performance. Even with those problems still present, the cutters delivered smoother operation, less jarring, and stronger torque output than the attachment they had been using.

When we started cutting, the reaction was immediate. The operator noticed the difference right away. Mine leadership saw improved production. Running both machines side by side removed any doubt about how the cutters were performing in gypsum and surrounding hard rock.

Side by Side Production in Gypsum and Limestone

This gypsum mine cutter demonstration was not limited to one machine or one material. We ran the cutters in gypsum and had a regional civil and highway contractor observe them cutting limestone as well. One of their team members operated the cutter and saw firsthand how efficiently it cut and how stable it felt under load.

Seeing a cutter work in multiple materials under real site conditions carries more weight than any sales presentation. Production, torque, and consistency were evaluated in front of operators and decision makers who work in rock every day. You can watch the hole episode in detail below:

Deployment Protocol Sets the Difference

At Rock Hard Solutions, our goal is not simply to place cutters in the field. These attachments are mechanical systems that require proper setup, understanding, and support to perform at their best. During this gypsum mine cutter demonstration, we helped diagnose issues in the customer’s excavator that were affecting overall performance across the board.

One of the things the client told us directly was that our deployment protocol set us apart. We did not just drop off equipment. We worked alongside their team, adjusted settings, identified mechanical concerns, and made sure the cutters were running correctly. Even if they had chosen to keep their existing cutter, their machine would have been better off because of the troubleshooting done on site.

Expanding into the Western Market

The demonstration also opened the door to new relationships in northern Arizona and southern Utah. A large civil contractor came out to watch the cutters run and left impressed with the performance in limestone. Field exposure like that builds credibility and creates opportunities for future demonstrations and rentals in the region.

Episode 3 represents the payoff moment of this trip. Once the cutters were on site and properly installed, the performance matched the expectation. In a gypsum mine cutter demonstration, production, smoothness, and reliability speak louder than anything else.
